Top Five Favourite TV Shows

Hi, Beauties! There is nothing I love more than snuggling up in bed watching my favourite TV shows. I find watching a familiar episode can pull me out of even the darkest moods. I thought you might be interested in hearing about my all-time favourite TV shows. I'd love to hear what yours are!

1. Dawson's Creek: Yes, this is an old show but I grew up watching it. I used to love catching up with Dawson and Joey after a long day at school and it helped me escape for a few hours. Dawson's Creek is a special show for me. It's the show I go to when I'm having a rough time. It helped get me through my parent's divorce, breakups, friend dramas and it even helped me decide what I wanted to do with my life. It inspired me and most importantly it taught me so many things about life and love and I genuinely believe it has made me the person I am today. If you've never watched Dawson's Creek (um, who even are you!?), It's based on four friends (Dawson (James Van Der Beek), Joey (Katie Holmes), Pacey (Joshua Jackson), and Jen (Michelle Williams) who live in a small town called Capeside and follows them through High School and College. The series was created by Kevin Williamson and to this day it is one of the best shows to accurately showcase the everyday struggles teenagers go through.

2. One Tree Hill: This show was all heart. Beautifully written with an excellent soundtrack, there was a quote to define any life moment. This is the show I watch when I don't want to feel alone. I feel so connected to this show - it's like reading a page out of my diary sometimes. One of my favourite quotes is from this show and I now have it tattooed on my ribs. "There is so much magic in the world, you just have to believe in it." The show is set in a small town called Tree Hill (this was filmed in the same town as Dawson's Creek!) and follows two step-brothers (Lucas, played by Chad Michael Murray and Nathan, played by James Lafferty) who start the show as enemies but bond as the show progresses. It follows them and their relationships throughout the series as well as their love of basketball. There are ALOT of crazy storylines throughout the nine seasons but there is always a much bigger message around life, family, and love that is the main focus of the series. If you haven't watched this show, please do. I know you will love it as much as I do.

3. Veronica Mars: OMG guys. This show is one of the best shows, ever. Even eight years after it was first released, it's still one of the smartest shows around. I can't even express how much I love Veronica (played by Kristen Bell). She is the heroine I needed to see on TV growing up. She is a badass. She's strong, independent and doesn't take shit from anyone. Veronica Mars is based in a small town called Neptune. She is a student who also moonlights as a private investigator, working in her detective father's office after school. In each episode, Veronica solves a different case while working to solve the main season one mystery - who killed her best friend, Lilly. A new mystery begins during the first episode of the second season and the season finale is one of the best episodes of TV, I have EVER seen.

4. Gilmore Girls: I'm sure you have all heard of Gilmore Girls. This beautiful show has made a comeback and in November, four new episodes will screen on Netflix, 10 years after the show ended in 2007. The show follows single mother, Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory, living in small town, Stars Hollow. The series explores issues of family, friendship, and romance, as well as things like generational divides and social class. It's a show that showed me it's okay to dream big and it's okay to not have a traditional family. I love Lorelai and Rory's relationship and it made me appreciate my relationship with my mum a lot more. I recently re-watched the whole series and it's still just as good as it was back in 2000.

5. Chasing Life: I wasn't expecting to love this show as much as I do. I will say that it's a real slap in the face and I don't know how many times I ugly cried while watching this. However, all the tears were worth it. The show follows 24-year-old, April (Italia Ricci) who is an aspiring journalist at a Boston newspaper. Just as April's career and relationships start going well, April is diagnosed with Leukemia.  April's life is then turned upside down and the show documents her fighting for her life while still trying to keep up with her old life. This show really puts life into perspective. You may think that work and money are the only things that matter in life but it's actually your family and your relationships that matter the most. If you're keen on binge-watching this show, Netflix currently has all two seasons streaming.
It was really hard only picking my top five so I have also listed six other favourites below. Happy watching!

6. The OC: Seth Cohen. That is all.
7. Gossip Girl: You didn't think I'd leave out my friends Blair, Serena, Dan, Nate, and Chuck - did you? Gossip Girl is my ultimate guilty pleasure. I love everything about this show. New York, the fashion, the crazy storylines and of course, Blair Waldorf. My queen.
8. Parenthood: A show even your parents will love. Parenthood is the perfect show to watch on a Sunday afternoon.
9. Glee: I know most people hate this show, but, I love it. I find it very hard to watch now with Cory Monteith gone but it will always have a special place in my heart.
10. Greek: This series follows students of Cyprus-Rhodes University who participate in the school's Greek System. The show focuses on Casey Cartwright and her brother Rusty as they go through the greek system, their relationships and struggles. It's such a fun show and I know you will love it.
11. Friends: I'm sure you ALL have watched at least one episode of Friends. This is a show I can watch one hundred times and never get sick of it. I think of Rachel, Ross, Chandler, Monica, Joey and Pheobe as my friends and I love catching up with them.

  1. You are giving me all the nostalgia right now. Awesome choices. Especially Greek.
You should check out Limitless (the TV show based on the movie) as it has Evan in it and is so good. Unfortunately it's only one season but totally worth it!
