How to motivate yourself on 'off' days

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend. 
October/November is hard for most people with work demands and life admin at their peak. I always struggle this time of year with new demanding work projects launching throughout the month. Some days it can be hard to pull myself out of bed. The thought of hundreds of emails and a two-page To-Do list is often overwhelming. However, that's life and it's not going to get done if I stay in bed all day. 

I've come up with the ultimate routine to kick-start my day when I'm just not feeling it. Check it out below and please share your tips with me in the comments below!
  • It's so important to nurture your mind when you're not feeling yourself. I like to do a short Yin Yoga session before work to help prepare me for my day. Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time than traditional yoga. It helps relax the body and mind and improve flexibility and joint movements. Sarah Beth Yoga  has some great classes on her YouTube channel. You can pick from 10mins to 1hour sessions. I always feel like I can take on the world even after just doing 10 minutes. 
  • Wear something you feel comfortable in. I always wear one of my favourite black dresses, tights, boots and my favourite grey jacket when I need a little love in the morning. An outfit you feel your best in can really transform your mood. 
  • Put on some red lipstick. On one of 'those' mornings, or before a big meeting, I always put on my favourite MAC red lipstick. Nothing can make you feel like you have your shit together like red lipstick. 
  • Listen to music or your favourite Podcast. I love listening to podcasts in the morning and some of them are great at giving you a belly laugh in the morning or inspire you to be the ultimate #GirlBoss. Personal favourites of mine are, The Lady Gang and GirlBoss by Sophia Amoruso .
  • Last but not least, Power Pose. Before leaving the house, stand with your hands on your hips and look into your mirror. Tell yourself, 'I can do this. It's going to be a good day.' Repeat it three times. Honestly, this works. It really works. (special thanks to The Lady Gang for this amazing tip).
