Pamper Mum This Mother's Day

Hi beauties,
Happy Mother's Day! Special shout out to my lovely mum - I hope you're being spoilt.
Mums. Where would we be without them? They are our first friends, our rocks and they love us unconditionally. I would like to think we appreciate our mums every single day of the year, but sometimes I think we forget to show it, which is why I've put together a little gift guide including little things you can treat mum with, all year round.

Flowers: You really can't go wrong with flowers. Everyone loves them (I dare you to find me someone that doesn't) and they are the best gift to give someone just to tell them you love them. You don't have to spend a fortune, either. You can get some great deals at your local farmers market or florist. If you live in Auckland, make sure you check out the French Markets in Parnell and Britomart's La Cigale Market. They always have the most beautiful flowers and you can pick and choose a selection from $10.

Ecoya Candle: There is nothing better than lighting a beautiful candle and curling up with a good book. Ecoya has a great range of flavours, too. I am obsessed with Pine (only available at Christmas) and Strawberry & Blackberry Leaf - if you haven't smelt this one, you are seriously missing out.

Book: Curling up with a book on a cold winter's night is such a pleasure. Whitcoulls have a range of books your mum will love. Books are one of my favourite gifts to receive and my mum and I often exchange books. Paris for One by JoJo Moyes (author of Me Before You), is a collection of short stories which are the perfect length to read before bed.

Lush: Mums often spend so much time looking after everyone else they forget to pamper themselves. Lush has a range of bath bombs, shower gels and massage bars your mum will love. I love the Snow Fairy shower gel, which also makes awesome bubbles in the bath.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Concealer: I use this concealer all the time as I like the coverage and it doesn't crease. However, it's actually made for more mature skin and literally erases fine lines. I made my mum buy this and she's just as obsessed as I am.

Nail Polish: Why not have a manicure night with your mum? You can put in a girly film, drink some wine and paint each other's nails. Rimmel and Australis has some awesome colours like this rose gold. I'm obsessed.

Kate Somerville skincare: This stuff isn't cheap, but Kate Somerville has a range of products your mum will love. The Age Arrest Anti-Wrinkle cream has been scientifically formulated to combat signs of ageing using Telo-5 technology. The DermalQuench Liquid Life + Retinol is my mums personal favourite. It's a retinol treatment that improves the appearance of skin firmness, elasticity and texture, and reduces the appearance of pigmentation - basically, it's magic in a bottle. Nude by Nature Highlight Palette: Featuring a bronze, rose and champagne shade, the Nude by Nature highlight palette is easy to blend, leaves the skin looking beautiful and radiant and the powders are very finely milled so they don't look cakey on the skin.
