If My Life Was A Soundtrack

Hi beauties,
I felt like sharing something random with you all today so I've put together 10 songs that would definitely be playing if my life was a soundtrack. This was super fun and actually quite hard - if you create your own list, please share with me!

  1. I Don't Want to Wait - Paula Cole: Do I really need to explain why this is at the top of my list? The theme song to my most favourite TV Show; Dawson's Creek. Paula Cole's, I Don't Want to Wait is the ultimate soundtrack to my life. Dawson's Creek taught me so many things, during different parts of my life.
  2. Sugar, We're Goin Down - Fall Out Boy: "I'm just a notch on your bedpost, but you're just a line in a song" has to be one of my favourite lines of all time. If you know me, seeing Fall Out Boy on this list should be no surprise. All my favourite teenage memories feature a Fall Out Boy song. I'll never forget the moment I met Pete Wentz; it was after I had the best time dancing the night away with my best friend. I still smile so big just thinking about it. They always say, 'never meet your heroes' but 16 year-old-me was not disappointed.
  3. I Write Sins Not Tragedies - Panic! At The Disco "Oh... well imagine.." Is it in your head now? Perhaps one of the catchiest songs, ever, I Write Sins Not Tragedies is another song I remember fondly from my teenage years and I often put this song on when I need cheering up.
  4. California - Phantom Planet: "We've been on the run, driving in the sun, looking out for number 1" You may remember this as The OC theme song, and while I friggin love that show, this song has a different meaning for me. For me, It's about leaving home and being on my own for the first time, leaving old friendships behind and starting something new.
  5. White Horse - Taylor Swift: "I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairy taleI'm not the one you'll sweep off her feet, lead her up the stairwell, this ain't Hollywood, this is a small town, I was a dreamer before you went and let me down, now it's too late for you and your white horse, to come around..." I can remember so vividly listening to this during uni days, pining for a dream boy that was never going to work out. This is the part of a movie where the lead actress cries her eyes out while scoffing a box of chocolate.
  6. Hey There Delilah - Plain White T's: "Hey there Delilah, I've got so much left to say, If every simple song I wrote to you, would take your breath away, I'd write it all." Do I really need to explain this one?.. This brings back memories of first love and feeling so scared but invincible.
  7. Kiss Me - Sixpence None The Richer: "Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight, lead me out the moonlit floor, lift your open hand, strike up the band, and make the fireflies dance, Silvermoon's sparkling, so kiss me." This song just makes me happy. Read those lyrics again. Do you feel it?
  8. You - Switchfoot: "I find peace when I'm confused, I find hope when I'm let down, not in me...me... In you" This is the song I listen to when I'm feeling at a bit of a crossroad. When I don't know what to do... this song always gives me the answer.
  9. Lego House - Ed Sheeran: "I'm gonna pick up the pieces and build a Lego house, when things go wrong we can knock it down." It should be no surprise that Ed Sheeran is featured. I could feature an Ed Sheeran song for every single stage in my life.
  10. The Scientist - Coldplay: "Nobody said it was easy, it's such a shame for us to part, nobody said it was easy, no one ever said it would be this hard." Need a good cry? Listen to this song. I have such a deep connection to this song, I could listen to it on repeat for hours - and cry a waterfall in the process.
