Hawaii Haul

Hi, beauties,
I'm so sorry it's been a little while since I last blogged. I've been so busy when I got a moment's downtime I just didn't feel like blogging. Truth be told, it started to feel like a hassle and less like a hobby.
However, I've just got back from 11 days in the beautiful Hawaii where I finally gave myself the chance the relax, unwind, and just reset. I'm feeling really good and ready to get back into blogging!
How have you all been? It's so crazy how fast this year is going. How are your New Years resolutions going? I'm proud to say I am kicking ass at mine. I've been going through some life changes which I'll share in another blog post so have been feeling better than ever.
Anyways, if you want to read all about my Hawaii beauty haul, keep on reading!

As I mentioned, I just got back from Hawaii. We visited three of the Islands; Maui, Kauai, and Oahu. All were super beautiful, but my favourite was Kauai - it was just so peaceful and the locals were super nice. The other islands were great as well but just super touristy.
I was quite disappointed with the shopping as I was expecting it to be quite cheap (since we were in the USA and all), but, nope. When I converted things back it ended up being a similar price to what we'd pay in NZ (boo!). Drugstore makeup was pretty cheap though so I made sure to stock up on my favourites and also pick up a few things I haven't tried before.

Hawaiian Kukui Oil of Aloha Cream: my mum has been to Hawaii a few times and always picks this up. She constantly raves about how good it is so last Christmas I tried it out and fell in love. It's a very moisturising cream which is ideal if you have dry skin or suffer from eczema. I picked this up from the local ABC store for around US$14.99. I'm not sure if you can get it online, but if you're going to Hawaii, I really recommend picking this up.

Rose and Cucumber Sheet Masks: while browsing Forever 21 in Oahu I stumbled across these sheet masks. They were only US$1.90 and they are fantastic. I love sheet masks and will often do one before work or after a long day. If you're brave enough, they are also great to do on a plane as they help lock moisture into your skin.

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer: this shouldn't come to a shock to anyone. I have mentioned time and time again that this is my favourite concealer of ALL TIME. I picked this up for around US$6.99 which is a steal. I've heard a rumour this is available at Farmers now as well, so I won't need to bribe any of my friends overseas to send me backups.

NYX Precision Brow Pencil and Control Freak Eyebrow Gel: I am obsessed with trying out new eyebrow products so when I saw NYX had a new range out I had to try them. I love the brow pencil, they colour is the perfect combo of brown and ash to it blends really naturally into the brows. The shape is also great as it helps create natural strokes. The eyebrow gel is good, it's pretty standard, but it does the job well. Both products were around US$10 from Target.

Maybelline Total Temptation Mascara: I'm a bit of a mascara snob but the packaging sucked me in. The Total Temptation mascara feels really nice on the lashes and is even better to get off. Once I washed my face I actually felt like every bit of product had come off (this never, ever happens). I think it must be because this is made with coconut extract. I did find that it doesn't lift the lashes much, but it does separate them nicely - which is ideal if you don't like the clumpy-look. This was US$7.89

Wet n Wild MegaGlo Highlighting Powder in Diamond Lily: this highlight is the stuff of dreams! It's so pretty - just look at it! It's just as shimmery as it looks and it lasts on the cheeks all day. I wore this to an event and got so many compliments - pretty awesome for a product that was only US$5.00!!!

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder: another one of my holy grail products - the Stay Matte Powder is great to chuck in your makeup bag on the go. It helps keep my makeup beautiful and matte and I could not live without it. I definitely recommend picking this up if you're looking for a new powder.

That's it! I'd love to hear what products you've been loving. Let me know in the comments below, or make sure to give me a follow on Instagram.

xxx Hayley
